# Converting a Normal Project to a Multi-editor Project

Once you have opened a scene file from the Team Project Library, go to the menu bar and select **File → Multi-editor Convert**.

**Automatic allocation:** The system automatically creates default worksets on a 1:1 basis matching your project's existing layer structure. For example, if your project contains _Layer 1_ and _Layer 2_ , the system will automatically generate "Default Workset Layer 1" and "Default Workset Layer 2". All scene assets within the original layers will be automatically assigned to their respective worksets.

#### Automatic Allocation Rules

  * Default worksets are created 1:1 based on the number of original project layers. Naming convention: Default Workset + Layer Name.

  * All scene assets (models, lights, groups, etc.) within the original layers are automatically assigned to the corresponding default workset.

  * All automatically generated data is loaded as temporary data. If the user cancels the operation, the data is cleared immediately without affecting the original project.

  * Once saved, the workset configuration becomes official, and the project switches to Multi-User Editing mode.

#### Creating a Multi-editor Project Directly from D5 Launcher

Instead of converting an existing standard project, you can create a multi-editor project directly from the Launcher’s Team Project Library:

  1. Create a new project in the Launcher's Team Project Library and check/click the **Multi-editor Project** button.

  2. The system will display a "Default Workset" by default. You can add and name multiple worksets (e.g., "Landscape", "Architecture", "Interior") before the project is even generated.

  3. Save the settings to create a brand-new project with your pre-configured worksets directly in the Team Project Library.

**Tip:** This method is ideal for new projects starting from scratch, as it bypasses the need to convert a standard project later, making the workflow much cleaner.
