# What is the ACEScg working color space?

#### **Function Introduction**

D5 now supports the **ACEScg working color space** , offering a wider gamut than traditional Linear-sRGB (Rec. 709). In high-dynamic-range and complex lighting, ACEScg retains more color detail and reduces clipping and shifts in bright areas, giving you steadier, more realistic color.

#### **Applicable Scenarios**

  * Architectural visualization projects that require high color accuracy, such as interior lighting, mood rendering, and sunset scenes with a high dynamic range (HDR).

  * Professional workflows that require a consistent color space when exporting to post-production software such as **Nuke** or **DaVinci Resolve**.

#### **Working Color Space Settings**

A new **Working Color Space** option has been added under **Preferences → Rendering**. This setting defines the color gamut used for internal color calculations during rendering.

  * **Linear sRGB (Rec.** **709):** The traditional standard working color space, suitable for most rendering workflows.

  * **ACEScg:** A wider-gamut color space that covers a larger portion of the visible spectrum, making it ideal for high-quality rendering and advanced color workflows.

_**Note:**__The selected Working Color Space is saved with each project, allowing different projects to use independent color space configurations._

#### **Material Color Adjustment Control**

  * The material color adjustment control supports switching between the sRGB color gamut and the ACEScg color gamut 

  * The color adjustment's default setting is the sRGB color gamut. 

  * This change affects all color input palettes
